Job overview: This is a hands-on full-time and part-time position with day-to-day duties that include performing all specialized disinfecting and cleaning as well as some maintenance tasks associated with the cleaning team at Sparkle Freshness.  Using a client checklist, the Cleaning Specialists will perform tasks associated with the maintenance office and buildings. Disinfecting all high touch point areas, surfaces, restrooms, kitchens and break areas, lounge areas, gyms.

Essential Duties and Major Responsibilities:

Hard Floor and Carpet Maintenance:

  • Use only Sparkle Freshness-approved floor cleaning methods, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Surface cleaning, sweeping, and mopping or vacuuming floor surfaces in multiple work sites.
  • Utilize portable carpet and floor cleaning equipment in work performance.

Kitchen Care:

  • Use only Sparkle Freshness-approved methods, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Dispose of perishable food in the fridge. Only when required. 
  • Wash dishes or load the dishwasher and put dishes away in cupboards.
  • Wipe down all appliances, disinfect counters, and tables.
  • Empty waste containers and replace liners.
  • Sweep and mop the floor.

Bathroom Maintenance:

  • Use only Sparkle Freshness-approved methods, chemicals, and equipment.
  • Disinfect toilets with brush and chemicals.
  • Scrub stains, mold, and mildew from surfaces.
  • Sweep and mop the floor.
  • Disinfect all bathroom stalls.
  • Restock Toiletries and report when low.

Specialized Cleaning Tasks:

  • Perform on-demand cleaning duties at various sites to assist in large-scale cleaning operations such as post-construction cleans and large-scale disinfections.
  • Assist or utilize specialized cleaning equipment to perform tasks such as fogger perform other deep cleanings. 
  • Upholstery cleaning tasks including wiping or vacuuming.
  • Assist with other duties as assigned. 


  • High school diploma or equivalent required. 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Minimum of 2 years of residential or commercial cleaning experience. 
  • At least 18 years of age.
  • Valid driver’s license and reliable automobile, safe driving record, and insurance coverage acceptable to Sparkle Freshness’ insurance carrier.
  • Reliable transportation to and from work sites.
  • Strong English communication skills, both oral and written.
  • Ability to pass drug screening and criminal history background check and/or fingerprinting as appropriate at any time during employment.
  • Ability to use smart devices and applications. 

Supervisory Expectations:

In addition to the duties listed above the as the lead team member on duty, the Cleaning Specialist, Supervisor is responsible for: 

  • Coaching and developing cleaners.
  • Leads the work of an assigned shift of Cleaning Specialist; oversees and provides work instructions; clarifies information when requested; ensures readiness of Specialist and cleaning equipment; guides employees on Sparkle Fresh approved work procedures; demonstrates safe work practices and the correct operation and usage of equipment.
  • Assists with the preservation and security of facilities by locking doors and windows; notifies management or police of unusual or suspicious activities.
  • Assigning worksite duties to staff and regularly inspecting their work to ensure that established standards are met.
  • Performing all cleaning duties necessary in instances of staff shortages.
  • Attending meetings and in-service training sessions as required.

Work Hours:

Regular work hours can range from 7:00 am to 1:00 am. Employee hours vary and are dependent on business needs. The typical schedule is between the hours of 5:00 pm- 1:00 am. The position is up to 40 hours per week, Sunday through Saturday, with evenings and weekends as needed to satisfy the requirements of the position.
